Thursday is the day! That day, Symfony2 will be released. Of course, we don't want to let that pass without attention. So aside from the obvious "OMG IT'S OUT I NEED IT NOW" shout in the office that day, why not join fellow developers to celebrate the release of Symfony2? Several launch parties are scheduled already, and if there isn't one in your area, we invite you to organize one yourself!

Symfony2 published this week its two latest release candidate versions, which include several hundreds of commits since the previous version. In addition, the definitive release date for Symfony 2.0 stable version was announced for Thursday, 28th July.

We are now ready to release Symfony 2.0 final. As we have made some significant changes in the last couple of weeks, we are publishing another release candidate (RC5) today and we will wait for a week before releasing Symfony 2.0 final on Thursday 28th.

Not yet decided what to do for the summer holiday this year? Do you just feel like going to the country of pizza, pasta, beautiful women and attractive men? Or are you more into contributing to Symfony2 and it's future? Whatever the reason you may have, next week is a good time to be in Italy. More specifically: Cesena. Because next week (July 29 and 30), the Symfony2 CMF Camp will take place there. A two-day meeting to talk, discuss, code, eat, drink and have fun.

Symfony2 changed this week the way cookies are managed, moved the EntityUserProvider from Security Component to Doctrine bridge and fixed some minor errors. In addition, Twig nicely improved its performance with the new 1.1.1 version and Assetic published the final 1.0 stable version, both joining the group of external Symfony2 libraries which have recently published stable versions in preparation for the final release of Symfony2.

This week Symfony2 published its fourth release candidate version, one of the latest versions before the final release. In addition, Symfony2 updated Doctrine version to 2.1 and Monolog version to 1.0. Lastly, some exception messages were improved and validation error messages were updated/translated to lots of languages.
