Symfony 0.6 released
by Francois Zaninotto – February 09, 2006 – 6 comments

We are proud to announce the availability of the new symfony release. Symfony 0.6 is a major step for the framework: With dynamic configuration, components, admin generator, multiple databases, advanced cache, and dozens of other new features, symfony is better than ever.

Make sure you read what's new in 0.6 and how to upgrade. Be careful that the 0.6 breaks backward compatibility on some points, but the upgrade process for your projects is mainly automated and does not takes long.

The whole documentation has also been updated to reflect the 0.6 changes. The book, the tutorials (apart from askeet, which will come later) and the API doc are now referring to the 0.6 features and commands.

Once again, if you experience problems problems with the upgrade, head to the forum where many issues have already been solved.

Excellent! This is right way to manage a framework, release a new version with updated documentation and a verified means of upgrading from the previous version. So many other frameworks have failed by releasing new versions without regards to doc updates or upgrades paths from previous versions.

Good work. I'm looking to upgrade all my projects soon. Is there a release-only mailing list so that I can stay tuned? Thanks.
