I am happy to announce the upcoming plugin developers day, happening on Saturday November 8th from 3:00pm to 9:00pm GMT in the #symfony IRC channel.
We will cover a number of plugin-related subjects in depth, including creating and naming a plugin, adding customizable model, form and action classes, unit and functional testing a plugin, packaging and releasing, and what's new in symfony 1.2.
If you've been meaning to try your hand at writing a symfony plugin or have been writing plugins for years, please join some of your fellow developers for a day of learning, collaboration and development.
A DDD Tease
In the meantime, keep an eye out for the forthcoming sfTaskExtraPlugin. This plugin, to be maintained by the symfony core team, will include the following tasks in its initial release:
generate:plugin
plugin:package
I look forward to seeing you all online. In the meantime, please comment below if have anything in particular you'd like to discuss as a part of this event. A more detailed schedule for the day will be released here in early November.
That's really nice! I hope this discussion will be logged somewhere, in case I can't read it in live... Or maybe it will be the entry point for a new chapter in the cookbook dedicated to plugins?
Sweet! I'm looking forward to it.
If you want to know the date and time for the event in other time zones. http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?day=8&month=11&year=2008&hour=15&min=0&sec=0&p1=0
Hi Kris ! Cool i will attend. My goal will be to convert sfTCPDFPlugin and sfJoomlaBridgeplugin for sf 1.1 / 1.2. I will also give support to people who want to test the sfDB4toPropelPlugin. See you. :)
