We’re excited to welcome Paul Edward, CTO of Compado, as a speaker at SymfonyOnline June 2025!
In his talk, “Inside a Financial App Breach: Debugging a Million-Dollar Bug”, Paul will share the untold story of how a small flaw in a well-engineered system exposed his company to a massive security breach. In just minutes, attackers exploited a hidden vulnerability and drained over 70 million — leaving the team blindsided.
Paul will take attendees behind the scenes to explain how the breach happened, how his team uncovered the vulnerability, and what they learned in the aftermath. Through live demos and real-world code, he’ll explore race conditions in depth — how they work, why they’re especially dangerous in financial systems, and how developers can prevent them in Symfony applications.
This session is a must for anyone responsible for securing online systems, especially in high-stakes or high-traffic environments.
