Software Engineer (AI & Workflow Automation)

Remote (UK-Based) | Full-Time | GMT Timezone

Who We Are

We’re SwiftCase, part of Livepoint Software Solutions Ltd — a UK company building intelligent automation platforms since 2015. Founded by Dr Adam Sykes (computational chemist turned coder) and Nik Ellis (serial entrepreneur), we exist to eliminate boring, repetitive work through clever automation.

SwiftCase powers automation for finance, legal, and insurance firms — freeing people to focus on what matters. We’re small, fast-moving, and still have that startup garage-band energy. No corporate politics. No endless Jira tickets. Just curiosity, experimentation, and shipping real systems that work.

How We Work

  • Flat structure: If you’ve got a smart idea, we’ll listen — whether you’ve been here a week or a decade.
  • Fast feedback loop: Idea on Monday, prototype by Tuesday, live by Friday.
  • Hands-on culture: Everyone codes. Everyone contributes.
  • Remote-first: UK-based, flexible working, and a tight-knit, high-trust team.

You’ll work directly with Adam, who’s still hands-on with the code, architecture, and AI research.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and extend our PHP / Symfony-based SwiftCase platform.
  • Design and maintain APIs, backend services, and database logic (Doctrine ORM, MySQL/MariaDB).
  • Integrate AI features – connecting our workflow engine with systems like the VoiceAgent (telephony, speech-to-text, and AI-driven responses).
  • Optimise performance and reliability across distributed, real-time systems.
  • Collaborate across the stack, from backend to frontend integrations (Stimulus, JS, Tailwind).
  • Deploy and maintain via Docker and GitLab CI/CD, troubleshooting live environments.

What You’ll Need

  • Excellent English communication – written and spoken.
  • Must be UK-based, within the GMT ± 0 timezone.
  • Strong PHP (Symfony) skills – comfortable designing APIs, services, and clean architecture.
  • Solid SQL experience (MySQL / MariaDB) and familiarity with Doctrine ORM.
  • Good understanding of modern web development, version control (Git), and testing practices.
  • Self-motivated and curious, comfortable working remotely without micromanagement.

Nice-to-Have

  • Knowledge of AI/ML APIs (OpenAI GPT, ElevenLabs) or NLP concepts.
  • Experience integrating APIs** and automation tools (OpenAI, Deepgram, Twilio, etc.).
  • Experience with JavaScript, Stimulus, or Tailwind/Bootstrap for UI integrations.
  • Exposure to Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Linux server management.
  • Background in workflow automation, CRM, or enterprise platforms.

What You’ll Get

  • Fully remote, UK-based role with flexible hours.
  • Competitive salary, pension, and profit-share bonus scheme.
  • Work on cutting-edge AI integrations and real-world automation systems.
  • Continuous learning culture – build, experiment, and grow.
  • A team that actually cares about the craft of software engineering.

Who You Are

You’re a builder — the kind of developer who can’t stand inefficiency and loves finding elegant ways to automate it away. You’ve probably been hacking on side projects for years and still get that rush from seeing something you’ve built come alive.

You want freedom, impact, and challenge, not bureaucracy. You like working with smart, driven people who question everything — and you can hold your own in a debate about design, architecture, or AI models.

Why Join Us

This isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to help create the systems others will be copying in two years. If that excites you, and you’ve got the drive to turn ideas into production-ready software — let’s talk.
