When we announced the Symfony AI initiative in July 2025, the goal was to bring powerful, well-integrated AI capabilities to PHP applications and to build them in the open with the community.
A little over a year later, Symfony AI has grown far beyond those first steps. Today, the repository contains more than 90 packages across its components, bundles and integrations. More than 160 contributors have helped build the project through over 3,800 commits and 1,600 merged pull requests.
Christopher Hertel has driven Symfony AI's development since its roots in PHP-LLM and continues to lead the initiative. Today, we are formalizing a dedicated Symfony AI Core Team to recognize the work of some project's contributors and guide its next phase:
