Backend Symfony Developer

SensioLabs Deutschland – the German subsidiary of SensioLabs, the company behind Symfony – is looking for a Senior Symfony Developer (m/f/d) to technically lead client projects across the DACH region, working with customers like ORF and Staffbase on architecture consulting, code audits, and long-term development partnerships.

Please note: Business-fluent German (written and spoken) is a strict requirement for this role. We work primarily with German-speaking clients, and existing codebases are usually documented and commented in German. Very good English is also required.

What you'll do

• Design and build complex Symfony applications
• Advise clients on architecture, performance, and security
• Code reviews, audits, and knowledge transfer
• Contribute to open-source projects in the Symfony ecosystem
• Optional: work with the Symfony AI Team on LLM integration in PHP

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of professional Symfony/PHP experience
• Strong knowledge of modern PHP (8.x), Doctrine ORM, and TDD
• Solid software architecture and design pattern skills
• Confident use of AI tools in daily development (e.g. Claude Code)
• Business-fluent German and very good English (see note above)
• Strong communication skills in direct client contact
