Are you a Symfony pro who enjoys turning business puzzles into clean solutions? Want to help answer the question: “How can modern tech help a company that makes and ships real products grow and thrive?” If you can wrangle Doctrine without breaking a sweat, keep Composer dependencies polite, and make Sonata behave (even on Mondays), you’ll feel right at home.
This is your chance to join Gravitiq - a rapidly growing health and beauty company – and become an integral part of our dynamic tech team. In this role, you'll work directly with the CTO to drive project throughput, enhance our tech stack, and ensure that our development efforts keep pace with our ambitious growth. You’ll dive deep into our core business functions, master our existing codebase, and help shape the future of our technology.
Who We Are:
Gravitiq is an e-commerce company based in the United Kingdom. We're at the forefront of the health and wellness revolution and beyond, strategically leveraging digital transformation across diverse consumer sectors like supplements, beauty, and health products. As the world increasingly embraces online channels, we empower businesses with cutting-edge technology and data-driven strategies to achieve scalable and efficient growth.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Mission-Critical Development: Tackle time-sensitive projects by crafting robust, well-structured Symfony PHP solutions that drive business success.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow developers, reviewing code and mentoring team members to ensure only high-quality, well-tested code is deployed.
- Innovative Problem-Solving: Build solutions ranging from API integrations and business-critical reporting dashboards to AI-enabled business automations.
- AI integration: Develop and iterate our AI systems to improve team effectiveness and the pace of releases.
- Tech Stack Evolution: Collaborate with the CTO to identify areas for improvement and lead projects that enhance our existing technology framework as we retool to make the most of AI-enabled enhancements.
Skills and Experience Requirements:
- PHP Expertise: 5+ years of advanced PHP development, with a knack for writing clean, maintainable, and robust code.
- Symfony & Doctrine Proficiency: 3+ years of hands-on experience using Symfony and Doctrine to build scalable apps (not just web pages). Experience with Sonata helpful, but not essential.
- Database Know-How: Strong understanding of MySQL, including the ability to write and optimise complex queries for reporting purposes.
- Version Control: Proficiency with git and GitHub for effective code management and collaboration.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written English skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas with clarity and provide constructive feedback.
- Passion for Tech: A deep-rooted enthusiasm for technology, data, and automation.
- Academic Excellence: A relevant degree from a top-tier university that reflects your strong academic background.
- Problem-Solving Prowess: Demonstrable analytical skills and a proven track record of tackling complex challenges.
- Bonus skills: advanced experience with database design and optimisation, AWS, Python, AI, data analytics, big data and/or machine learning (not essential, but will enhance your application)
What We Offer:
- A Collaborative Culture: Work in a friendly environment with smart colleagues who value knowledge sharing and mutual growth.
- Continuous Learning: Get the time and training you need to deliver the solutions we need to grow the business, combined with regular feedback from senior staff.
- Exciting Projects: Engage with a variety of technologies – APIs, ETL, data pipelines, data analysis and presentation, gen-AI, ML, web crawlers, front-end UIs, and more – while directly impacting business operations.
- Growth Opportunities: As a well-funded start-up with big ambitions, your role is primed for personal and professional growth as our team expands.
