A weekly summary of everything that happened around Symfony development.

This week, the new Symfony 2.3 branch was created. In addition, the first Symfony 2.3 release candidate version was published, which includes tons of great small improvements. Lastly, one of the biggest Symfony events of the year, the Symfony Live Portland 2013 conference, will take place next week.

This week, Symfony 2.3.0 released its second and last beta version. Among other features, this version supports the interactive management of the parameters.yml file and some nice improvements for the Console component. In addition, the Symfony 2.1.10 maintainance version and the Twig 1.13.0 version were released.

This week, the first beta of Symfony 2.3.0 was released. The most relevant additions were the new comparison validators, the requirement of the debug component to maintain BC, and the possibility to log fatal errors in production. In addition, Silex, the Symfony micro-framework, released its long-awaited 1.0.0 version.

This week, it was announced that the Symfony 2.3 Standard Edition will only include MIT/BSD licensed libraries and bundles (view pull request). In addition, Symfony 2.3 was declared nearly completed, with just a few important PR remaining before the first beta version. Lastly, a new version of SensioLabs Desktop was released.

This week, the Symfony 2.3 branch boosted its development activity, specially for the Form component. As a result, and for the first time since a long time, the repository had less than 100 outstanding pull requests. In addition, the complete schedule for the Symfony Live Portland 2013 conference was published.

This week, the Symfony project introduced Debug to its growing family of components. In addition, a code sprint for Symfony 2.3 took place to boost the development of the upcoming first LTS version of Symfony2.

This week, Symfony 2.2.1 was released, including tens of fixes and tweaks. In addition, it was announced that the first international SymfonyCon will be held in Warzaw, Poland in December. Lastly, a new Symfony 2.3 code sprint was announced for the Friday, April 12th.

This week, Symfony 2.1.9 was released, a maintainance version that fixed a lot of minor bugs. In addition, a Symfony Docs Hack Day was organized on March 30th, which was a huge success and resulted in tens of fixes and tweaks to the existing documentation.
March 31, 2013 #A week of symfony
This week Symfony 2.0.23 was released, marking the end of the 2.0 branch support. Meanwhile, the master branch added a way to automatically update scoped services, added a fully rewritten CssSelector component and deprecated tens of methods, properties and classes. Lastly, a new Symfony Docs Hack Day was announced for the following week.

This week the Locale component was refactored into two new Symfony components: Icu and Intl. Meanwhile, the first speakers of the Symfony Live Portland 2013 conference were announced and the full schedule for the Symfony Live Paris 2013 conference was published.
