The five most popular symfony plugins are now available and packaged for symfony 1.3 and 1.4

Last saturday was the day that the PHPBenelux usergroup organized their annual BugHuntDay. This year, the focus was on symfony, which led to 4 core team members being there amongst the attendees of the day. The day was attended by 17 people in total who seemed excited to commit some time to supporting symfony, as well as a number of people in the IRC chatroom.

With the symfony BugHuntDay just around the corner next saturday 14th of november, it is time to have a look at what you can do to prepare yourself. Luckily, one of the PHPBenelux crew members, Thijs Feryn, has posted a tutorial on his weblog on what you can do to prepare for the BugHuntDay.

This week on friday 30 and saturday 31 October, the PHPBarcelona Conference takes place in Barcelona. During this conference, symfony will be represented by two core team members: Fabien Potencier will speak about Symfony 2 and Stefan Koopmanschap will present his "Integrating symfony and Zend Framework" talk. If you are in the area or interested in these and many other topics, then you are recommended to come by!

Last year, the phpBenelux (back then the joint usergroups phpGG (NL) and phpBelgium) started the BugHuntDay initiative. People were able to come by on a saturday to join in fixing bugs for Zend Framework, being coached by one of their core contributors. This year, phpBenelux is again organizing a BugHuntDay, focussed this year on symfony! On Saturday November 14th from 10.00 until 17.00 you are welcome to join Fabien Potencier, Fabian Lange, Stefan Koopmanschap and the Benelux PHP community in Herentals in Belgium to help improve symfony, learn from eachother, and of course have some fun.

Last friday, september 4th, the German city of Cologne was the host of a new symfony event: symfony Day. This new one-day event was organized by German web agency Interlutions. Before the event already, the excitement was building because of the interesting line up, and it looks like this excitement was very much justified.

As many companies from around the world asked me how they can sponsor the event, we have worked on a sponsor guide, which is now available for download.
